Back in 2006, I took on an 80 acre vineyard that most believed to be a goner. That year my harvest was 50 ton. In 2007, I was introduced to a Custom Blend of Natures Balance (5-1-1 Natural Liquid FishFertilizer). I decided to use it on the 80 acres and harvested 70 ton. I waited too long to bring them in that fall – I couldn’t believe they were ready two weeks earlier than past years. As you can see in my 2007 Grower Delivery Report, the moisture content was thrown off by that.
This year I am amazed at how the carryover has affected the size of my canes and bunch’s. I’ve had to strengthen the wires to hold them up. I expect to bring in 300+ ton. It’s been 15 years since I’ve seen a crop this good. I have invited other farmers in the area to come and see for themselves.
I recommend a fall soil prep application. Then in the spring I go for two pushes, one at the bud break and the other after the first bloom.
I now use Natures Balance as part of my complete fertilizer program in all my vineyards.
